Shortly after writing about how I almost never see gulls in my neighborhood, we went on a walk across the street and found a field full of gulls. It has been a very wet summer in Michigan. This has caused the soccer and football fields a crossed the street to flood. Apparently the gulls have found a feast in this new marshy land.
We sat there for a long time watching the gulls flying around my neighborhood. They are amazing flyers. They also seem funny and petty as they chase each other around. My kids also liked screaming like the gulls… I am sure people living around there really enjoyed that. They may not be able to duplicate most bird song, but they were spot on with this one.
