April is a great time for flying kites. While it was still a little cool, we had a nice breeze. The sun also helped make it seem warmer.
I was pleasantly surprised how much difference one year can make. Unlike last year, all of the kids could fly their kites once I helped them get it in the air. This made it much more fun for them, and honestly for me too. The kids were very proud of the fact that they could fly them on their own.
While we had a few kites from before, we also broke out two new kites that I found on sale at the end of last summer. I find no shame in shopping in the bargain bin. They actually flew great, and were the perfect size for the boys. We had an older bee kite with double tales that could have used a little more wind, but my daughter did fine keeping it in the air. Hopefully we get a few more good days for flying kites.
