Feast of the Immaculate Conception

When we first got married, my wife and I decided that we would like to do more to celebrate Holy Days of Obligation than just go to mass. Some feasts like Christmas or Epiphany have established traditions, so it makes this task much easier. Other feasts like theĀ Feast of the Immaculate Conception, that is celebrated today, are a little bit harder.

How do you celebrate the mother of Christ being conceived without sin so that she could be the perfect vessel for Jesus… when all else fails, I say go with cake. So if Mary is the mother of the Holy Family, I figure the best way to celebrate one of her feasts is to buy the mother of our family a taste treat from the Polish Bakery down the road from my work. Of course I got myself one as well… it is not a party if you eat your desert by yourself.
