It has been warm lately, but the waterfowl seem to think we are moving into an early fall. The Canada geese and the Mallards are starting flock together. Maybe this is the time of years they always start flocking together, but it still feels early.
My kids think they are getting really good at “sneaking” up on the geese. I don’t have the heart to tell them that the geese (and ducks) don’t really care if they are their or not. They are big birds, and in the security of the pond they don’t even look at the kids. I think it is good for them to work on their outdoor skills, and get a little encouragement. Whether or not this is an early fall, these wild birds have been bringing joy to our lives.
