On today’s walk, we decided to go on a bug safari today. I couldn’t get a picture of everything we saw, but I did get a few.
- Hoover Fly – Which we thought was a fly at first
- A Bald-faced Hornet – Which we didn’t get a picture of… I didn’t want the kids to get too close.
- A Blue-fronted Dancer Damselfly – At least that is what I think it was.
- A male Common Whitetail Skimmer – This guy was moving too fast for a photo.
- A Milkweed bug – We saw a lot of these while looking for Monarch caterpillars
- And some cool moths… I am not sure what kinds they were.
It was a pretty successful bug safari.
