While the kids and I were out on a nature walk we found a Blue Dasher (Pachydiplax longipennis) flying around a river. Honestly, we thought it was a male Eastern Pondhawk when it was on the wing, but when looking at the pictures I am pretty confident in our identification. The Blue dasher was very nimble on the wing and a lot of fun to watch fly.
